Swan General Homestead is a family owned and operated business, founded by Abraham, John, and Sarah Bascon.
Abraham & John Bascon are 2 of 12 siblings and are second generation Masons and Contractors. Raised in Hawaii and Massachusetts, they join a group of Bascon owned Masonry and Landscape Design/Construction firms that can be found in California (that’s SGH!), Hawaii, and Massachusetts.
The Bascons grew up in the business. It is in their blood. Every summer, from a young age, they were “counting bricks” and working with their dad, a Master Mason, on job sites. Expertise, attention to detail, honesty, and integrity were integral parts of their upbringing and training. It is ingrained in their practice and is evident in the work they produce. A lifetime of experience has allowed them to flourish creatively and develop SGH with singular focus and superior quality.
Every brick is laid with Love, Legacy, and Aloha.
Sarah Bascon studied at CalArts and School of Visual Arts in NYC, majoring in Fine Art with a focus on painting. She had a rigorous art practice for many years but a move to Los Angeles expanded her skill set into Marketing, Brand Building and Design.
Landscaping became a passion as she worked in her own garden and her art practice transformed into creating outdoor livable spaces that are both functional and beautiful. Every outdoor space is envisioned as a painting or a sculpture, invoking years of an intensive fine art practice. Traditional art techniques are employed compositionally in all SGH projects.
Sarah is the Creative Director and Principal Designer at SGH and spearheads all marketing, operations and brand initiatives.
She also collaborated with Abraham on two children (see pic) as his wife.
